February 7, 2009: GDBAD

That late Saturday afternoon, the bus arrived at my place for picking me up.  The bus was taking me to Easter Seals where the deaf club is held and going to play Fingo game.  When the bus arrived at Easter Seals, I noticed, wow, so many vehicles were full crowded in the parking lot.  I don't know what's going on in there until I learned that people from out of town were having an interpreting training workshop when I went inside.  We were waiting for that group to get out of the room when the training is finished.  It's late.  Finally, the group of interpreting trainees was about leaving.  Thank goodness.  The deaf club officials were in a hurry to set up everything in the room.  We, as members and non-members, were waiting outside the room but automatic doors in the lobby room made us so cold as those kept opening continously.  Many other people kept coming in for attending and playing the game.  The room was so full crowded but I don't know how many people in there.  I lost a count.  When my deaf friend, Amy, came in with her hubby Chuck and deaf friend, Victoria, I paid her for a ticket to DHHS Grand Valentine Dinner party on Feb. 11th.  I asked a deaf friend to bring me a coffee that I paid.  I had a coffee that woke me up immediately.    It worked for me.  LOL!  Several minutes later, we started playing the game.  I had a slice of birthday cake that tastes okay.  It's probably from Winn-Dixie, a supermarket.  A hearing ASL student said the cake would be tasting better at Publix instead of Winn-Dixie.  She's right.  Later on, Dad came in to pick me up but the game took so long.  It was late.  I was waiting for the game to be finished.  I didn't win the game and the door prize that night but I am okay.  Then finally, I went home right away.

February 4, 2009: A Trip to Wal-Mart

That Wednesday afternoon, February 4th, was really so cold.  I wore a winter outfit.  Mom dropped me off at Wal-Mart.  Then I went straight to McDonald's for lunch.  I ordered a coffee and a large bag of french fries.  Drinking a coffee kept me a warm.  It woke me up right away like a magic.  LOL!  Afterwards, I went on to do a shopping.  I couldn't find the right size of beautiful ivory blouse with long sleeves in the Ladies' Department.  It's gone already!  It's hard on me.  I asked an employee for help but she couldn't find it either.  The reason I wanted to buy this pretty blouse is I am going to wear this for a Valentine dinner party tonight.  But I have another idea to wear at home.  Forget about this beautiful ivory blouse.  While I was in the Ladies' Department, I was surprised to find there's a paper wrap in my McDonald's coffee.  Yuck!  I did feel my lips acting funny but it didn't go into my throat.  Thank goodness!  So, I got a replacement of coffee right away when I went straight back to McDonald's.  It's a free.  McDonald's employee have had no idea what's it inside.  A paper wrap in my coffee looked so werid.  Anyways, I then continued to do a shopping again.  I went home when I finished it.

January 31 to February 1, 2009: Remodel of Shower Tub In My Big Bathroom

When I found out I am getting a shower tub remodeling, I was excited and happy.  Finally.  For months since I moved into a madsion, I had difficult getting into the shower tub without the supportive items inside.  Here are photos below:

This is before the remodel of shower tub.

Notice that the step of "doorway" is little bit too high for me to enter. It was hard on me. If I am using a big wheelchair, I would lift my feet over it and onto the floor as if I am being carefully and I jumped in it easily. And later on when I got another wheelchair that is small than the other one, I had difficult getting in but can't. Then I realized I am stuck outside of it so I changed it to a big wheelchair that is an easy for me to get in. This was happened to me weeks ago.

This is after the remodel.

Notice that the step is no more. It's gone! It had been cut off to make it a little bit.

As I am using a small wheelchair, I did it successfully! I am very happy about this result.

A new grab bar on the side of wall inside the shower tub.

This is 2nd grab bar on the other side of wall.
