I had a fun at the beach park yesterday mid-morning. I went back to Tom Renick Park again, remember that I blogged about last year? See my blog here from last year. When I arrived there, I noticed beachgoers flocking there. So crowded! I know it's due to Memorial Day. Luckily, Dad and I found an empty spot of handicapped parking lot. Thank God, my prayer had been answered. I already asked God for it before I came there. I think my Dad is relieving when he saw it. I know so many drivers are having a hard time to find an empty parking lot. I discovered the playground at a beach park is disappeared no more! I was surprised. The playground was there last year. I swear! Remember I told u that where kids were having a fun? I was disappointed. I took some digital photos there. I enjoyed reading a book and relaxed as Dad was enjoyed looking at the beach. I stayed there until noon time. Do u know about the rip current? See click here for a definition. The rip current is dangerous. It has been staying on for about 2 weeks or so. I heard there are 200 rescues for 3 hours in Cocoa Beach on the TV news yesterday. Goodness. See the TV news here about it.

BSAD Memorial Day Picnic May 27, 2007

Wow! I had a good time yesterday. I went to a picnic at a state park in Ocala, Florida that was hosting by a different deaf club, Big Sun Association of the Deaf (BSAD). That club is from Ocala. Many deafies came there for celebrating Memorial Day. Also, BSAD had a camping for 3 days. I came there only for one day cuz an hour drive from where I live. The state park is called Silver River State Park, south of Silver Springs where tourists visiting and it has a water park.
Last late Saturday afternoon, Amy, my deaf friend, e-mailed me unexpectedly. She asked in that e-mail, "Would you like to join with us?" . I replied back, "Sure! I will be glad joining u and others tomorrow. This is so unexpected." She also informed me that Nova, another hearing friend of mine who is an interpreter, and her close friend, Cathy, will join with us, too. Great! I was so excited about the trip to a state park in Ocala. I felt I am out of blue. The next morning, I had to leave at about 9:30 am. Chuck and Amy did arriving on time to pick me up. Amy and I were hugging each other when she came over to my place and then I left my place. My father already knows my plans. I left fax messages to inform Dad about the picnic the night before. Anyways, Chuck drove to McDonald's, near west of I-95 highway, for picking up our friends, Nova and Cathy, there. I can't do turning my head around to chat in a sign with them in the back of gold mini-van cuz my neck hurts me. I was sitting in the passenger's front seat. Anyways, Chuck drove a long trip. It took us to get there for 1 hour until Chuck stopped by a supermarket, Winn-Dixie, cuz Nova and Cathy had to buy something for our picnic. About 10 minutes or so later, Nova and Cathy returned and then we left there. Finally, Chuck turned left to south but he realized he's lost as if Chuck kept continuing to drive south longer. We don't see a sign of Silver River State Park yet. Chuck changed his mind and turned right to east. Chuck can't stopping at a place where he could ask someone about the location of Silver River State Park but suddenly, we found it. It's on northeast side of the road. We entered it. Chuck paid cash for going in there. We found our party on the left side of the road. Wow, so many vehicles in the parking lot! Chuck claimed the space when he found an empty one. Then we came to our party. We were meeting and chatting with new and old deaf friends there. I took few pictures of deafies. I paid cash for food. And 10 or 15 minutes later, it was time to eat food but first, a prayer. After a prayer, we went ahead to get our food. I was first in line cuz I am in the wheelchair. Amy helped to push a wheelchair for me and then I settled down to enjoy eating my food but my cheeseburger was about getting cold. It will cold quickly but it's good. I chatted with other deafies at the table. Later on, Amy wanted to walk around the park with us. I said okay. Chuck pushed my wheelchair harder cuz some wheels got stuck in the sand. We looked at old buildings that were built in 1870. Wow! I can't go in them cuz doors that were connecting to ramps are locked. Very interesting a history about those old buildings. We know residents in 1870 were having a hard time like no AC, no telephones, etc. I have had thought about what residents have worn. They might have had worn cotton clothes during a hot weather. I wish I could show u those digital photos but didn't have time. I tried but I already had thought about taking pictures of those 1870 buildings. Sorry. Anyways, old buildings look like a cabin. I guess woods are hard and strong. I can tell. And then we went to the trail, a long one. My wheelchair was difficult to push cuz sand makes wheels getting stuck. We decided to take a break cuz Chuck is exhausted and panted. Also, stopped at the bench. After taking pictures of us, I sat on the bench and waited for my deaf friends to return. I was alone but I am okay. As I was waiting for my deaf friends to return, I looked around the forest. Beautiful and peaceful. Cool air. I wondered what children in 1870 were doing. I imaged children were running wild through trees from their hometown. Anyways, I felt relaxing. We went back to our party when deaf friends returned from the trail. Amy told me she saw a canoe but haven't seen an alligator yet. LOL! Back at BSAD picnic, I chatted with other few deafies. I ate watermelon little bit. Several minutes later, we went home. We were quiet on the way back. Nova and Cathy were napping. When we arrived back in Ormond Beach, we dropped off Nova and Cathy at McDonald's where Nova's car was parked. I was next to be dropped off at my place by Chuck and Amy. Awwwwww, I had a wonderful time at BSAD picnic. I thanked Amy for inviting me there.

See a digital photo I took minutes ago above. On top of TV set is Sorenson VP-100. That was what Sorenson VP trainer working on last Sat afternoon. About a month ago, my deaf friend moved up my vp from a bottom of TV set to the top cuz something is not in the right way. LOL!

How was ur weekend? Mine is okay.

Last Friday, I was waiting for a woman named Jill to show up at my place all day. She's a Sorenson Video Phone (VP) trainer. Jill imed me unexpectedly while I was making a breakfast in the kitchen that morning. She informed me about updating my Sorenson VP and what time she's supposed to come in for a business. I imed her 1st of 2 times after 4 pm that afternoon. I asked her if she's lost her way to find where I live or getting late. She apologized me for being getting late cuz other clients kept her busy in Jacksonville (Jax). Then Jill kept me waiting all night but it's getting late. For 2nd and last time I imed her, I asked her if I need to make another appt. She asked if I would be available on Sat. I replied yes but I told her I am going out that Sat night. Jill said she needed to find a hotel in St. Augustine where Jill is going to visit other clients. I was waiting for her screen name to show up in my buddy list all Sat morning and iming me until that Sat afternoon when Jill informed me that she would be finished by 3 pm or 4 pm. Jill did make it to my apt on time. She knew I have to leave at 6 pm. Jill checked out my vp. No problems. She set up phone numbers of my doctor, pizza, and Chinese restaurants, and Votran. Jill told me what happened on her business trip in Jax that Fri. Her clients put a vp in the wrong way and it took her to fix up for 2 hours. Their vp was so screwing up. It was hard on Jill. That's why clients kept her busy. I asked her if she wants a water. She replied yes. I gave a bottled water to her. I guessed she's thirsty. Anyways, Jill left about 5 pm for going home in Palm Bay that where she's from. Jill is a nice and good to me. I guessed she's deaf and mute.

I went to a deaf club last Sat night. This is the last time I attended to. We played Fingo instead of Bingo. No door prizes. I did have a fun but I didn't win. I am okay. Unexpectedly, I should have known there would be meeting at 5 pm. I didn't know about it. I missed it. They had boxes of pizza for members only at the meeting. I also should have known that but I had a KFC dinner. I would love to eat pizza but I don't want overeating it. Anyways, I guessed I don't get an e-mail about the deaf club meeting few days before Sat. No one informs me about. An old named Bud mixed up e-mail addresses of deaf people included me. He was confused. Typing e-mail addresses kept him busy in his new computer. About hundreds of them. I figured Bud don't have a backup floppy disk of email addresses. That's why I don't get a scheduled meeting. A deaf lady told me Amy B. is not clearing about the meeting. Amy mixed it up. I went home after the game is over.

Whoa, I was so busy doing a laundry at my parents' house all day yesterday. I brought my own lanudry soap with a fresh scent and a package of fabric sheets. I purchased them myself weeks ago. I had to do 5 loads. I went home after 6 pm.

I had an accident at my parents' house that Wed afternoon. A glass of Pepsi with ices spilled out onto Mom's big, beautiful pink rug in the living room of her house as I was trying to move the tray table forward. Her favorite glass is broken into pieces. OOPS!I figured Dad put up the tray table in the wrong way. Yes, it is. But I solved the problem by how to clean it up myself. It was a hard work. As I was about to get a bottle of Oxy-Deep stain remover from the laundry room, Dad got mad when he saw it after he came out of his bedroom. It turned him into a rage little bit. I don't like his looks. I told him do not worry about it and had to take care of it myself. It gave him a stressful due to his age. I rubbed the stain of Pepsi off the rug successfully with a bottle of Oxy-Deep stain remover that Mom have in the laundry room. I found it already. It works! have heard about this bottle. This gives Mom a worry-free. LOL! No one can see spots. Great! And then I vacuumed the rug myself after I asked Dad to get it for me but not that one, it's a little black and red one, so either Dad or Joe won't get hurt if they go bare feet to walk on. That was before Joe came home.

Got a phone call from my mother thru a relay service on my TTY unexpectedly last night. It was late at night, after 11 pm. I think she knows I would be up before I go to bed. LOL! She kept calling me few times. I figured it's her. I knew it. Asked about Uncle Bill's emails that were sent to me but I told her I didn't get them yet. About 30 minutes before Mom called me, I called her thru a relay service in my computer and informed her I sent an e-mail to her. Otherwise, Uncle Bill didn't get an email from me yet she said on my TTY. The next morning, I got 4 emails from Uncle Bill. Finally. I guess my internet provider is so slow. I've checked what time he sent them to me. Uncle Bill sent them to me after 11 pm last night. I've learned Uncle Bill is having problems with his computer that is so slow lately cuz he installed a new anti virus recently. The new anti virus takes up so much memory that it slows his computer and locks it up.

Thank goodness, the smoky air is gone since last week. I don't smell bad anymore. I smell a fresh air when I opened the door few times today. Great. I am hoping it won't be coming back but I heard a wildfire had been spotted again in the south of our county. The lightning did it yesterday.
Last Sat night, I went to a VFW party in Daytona Beach. My Dad invited me there. The food is good. Smelling cigarettes everywhere made me uncomfortable. Yuck! I wanted to go outside for a fresh air but Dad said the dinner party would start in 10 minutes. Okay. I can't wait to get out of there but I have had to be patient. And then we moved to another room in that building. A loud music bothered Dad. He complained. Dad told a man to turn the music down. He can't stand it. Minutes later, a woman told the same man to turn the volume down. I finally went outside after I finished eating the last meal, a cake. I was so relieved when I got out of the building and saw a beautiful sunset about going down. On the way back to my place where Dad was going to drop me off, I noticed there's a smoke coming out of somewhere and police blocked the street where Dad was driving on from drivers and us so Dad diverted to another street.
I finally called my mom thru a relay service in the computer and my uncle's phone number on Mother's Day at around lunch time yesterday. Mom is still in PA. I attempted calling her on the cell phone twice but the message said she's not available so I asked Dad in the fax if he have my uncle's phone number few hours before. I got a fax and did call Mom. Uncle Bill answered it and realized it's me so he handled his phone to Mom. I said to Mom thru a relay service, "Happy Mother's Day!" and we talked about things personally. I felt better when I talked to her.
Found out my youngest brother, David, and his wife, Nhat, were going on a Bahamas and Cozumel cruise vacation last Friday. They will be coming home today. I can't believe it. It is their first time.

Update on Wildfires

This morning, I can see a smoky air all over our area but little bit before 10 am or 11 am. Again. I also can smell a smoke little bit when I opened the door but later the smoky air is lifted. See a local TV news here.

Wildfires '98
The wildfire started in late May 1998. I was working at sunglasses company, Capo, at that time. Capo is north of where I lived. My husband, Todd, and I were living together as a married couple in a different apt. We smelled a smoke so bad. The smoky air was coming from north. We had no rain for almost 3 months. One night in July 1998, while my husband was working at a hotel in Daytona Beach, Dad came over to get me out of my apt quickly. I was upset. I was trying to watch a movie tape but he interrupted me. As Dad was driving a car, I noticed so many vehicles like big trucks, cars, etc. were heading for U.S. 1 or A1A road from Ridgewood Avenue. Traffic was bad. First stop at my husband's work in Daytona Beach cuz Dad informed Todd about our place and where I stay. And then Dad sent me to a different hotel on a beachfront in Ormond Beach. Later on, I learned so many residents on the west side of Nova Road were evacuated but I lived on the east side. Dad was probably wrong. I think he was confused. At the hotel that night, we called Mom in Melbourne, Florida, where my oldest brother lived in at that time, she was stuck there. I complained Mom about Dad personally. Todd and I were staying at a hotel for one night and one day. And we returned to our apt. We later went back to Melbourne for visiting Mom and Joe. One night as Todd was driving a car, we noticed a smoke coming out of area on the east side of us. We were diverted to another road south, not on I-95 highway. A big fire. Wow!

Good Morning, everyone!

I have a problem with Yahoo yesterday. When I opened up my homepage that early morning, I discovered pictures of Y360 friends in my friends list disappeared. I can't believe it! I was upset. My page looks screwing up. The count of page views is reducing in my homepage, too. I guess I do remember I have had about 50,000. Anyways, I went over to check out friends list in some Y360 friends' homepage and found a picture of me is still in there. Thank God. I believe all of my Y360 friends still have it in their friends list. I posted a comment in the homepage of Yahoo 360 Team about this problem. Later on, I sent e-mailing to Yahoo Help Team and asking for fixing it but still no response back to me. I was still waiting for pictures of Y360 friends to be reappeared all day yesterday but nothing happened. I am disappointed. And this morning when I opened up my homepage as I was hoping for, too. Still waiting.

Last Tuesday morning, I went to a grocery at Wal-Mart. I noticed the price of my breakfast at McDonald's is raising little bit. It changes. Goodness. After I finished shopping, I noticed a black man in the wheelchair got out of his black van that is being parked in the handicapped space when automatic doors on the right side of his van were opening. Cool. His van looks big. Wow! When that same black man returned after finished doing his shopping, he was waiting for automatic doors to be opened for him and got in then closed them as he was about leaving Wal-Mart. I was looking at him doing something as I was waiting for Dad to come picking me up outside.

I bought a package of 5 blank video tapes at Wal-Mart a month ago but I have a problem with the tape. I already tossed out an old blank video tape. It should to be 6 hours longer to record some programs on NBC when I go out but instead, TWO HOURS! Groans! Damn it, I missed 2 other programs on it today. Someday I will have a TiVo or DVR but I don't think I can afford which one of them. I may wait until in the future. I don't know which one is the BEST. Anyways, Wal-Mart doesn't have a video tape cleaner. It's already gone. It will be displayed in couple days but I told Wal-Mart employee I will come back next week last Tuesday. The video player needs a clean immediately. The message showed up automatically to inform me it's time to clean on my TV screen last week or so.

Yesterday morning, I noticed a smoky air all over an area outside my apt. I can smell smoking little bit. Smoky air was coming from north, in another county where the wildfire was located. A wildfire started last Tuesday night. Some residents were evacuated from their home but last night evacuation lifted. See a local TV news about it here. Wildfires remind me of 1998, remember that? It was terrible. In that year, 1998, we had no rain for almost 3 months. I-95 highway was closed so residents couldn't get out of harm's way and got trapped in our area. Smelled a smoking was so bad.
