Last Saturday morning while I was at the library, guess who I ran into? A lady recognized me from her past but I don't remember her. She was the one who picked out my name from a glass bowl in the summer of 1997. It was about a contest by newspaper staff, not at a real newspaper station, but I've forgotten what's the name of that newspaper. I can't remember it. It's been a long time. Anyways, I was stunned
when I found out about it. Someone called me at home. I won the contest! I can't believe it! The winning prize was about a trip to About my father, he's screwed up DVD movie I've rented a month ago. Dad mistakenly took DVD movie, "Stardust", back to the library instead of Blockbuster. I was upset when I found out about it last week. It was an accident. Blockbuster sent a bill to Dad in his name. It was a late fee. He was supposed to read the sign, "Library" or "Blockbuster" but he did not paying attention to read it due to his age. I recall I did give DVD movie back to Dad when I finished watching it a month ago. Last Friday, Dad found this DVD movie at the library. Thank God. Then he returned it to Blockbuster. I am relieved. Whew!
We have done tha tmany times... taken a library DVD to the video store... or a video store one to the library! Very frustrating. Usually they'll work with you and understand the situation.
ReplyDeleteCool that you saw that lady and had a fun time remembering!
I won 1010 dollars on the lottery in July 05 but nothing else major since or before for many years. The only thing I ever won having a name picked out were two radios at the semi pro ballpark. The first time I was the first entry and the second time I was the last and I still have the radios and they work; 45 years or more. Glad you had a nice talk with her. I haven't rented a movie in years but we used to at 5 at a time. Jackie and I watch Remington Steele on DVD and I watch SVU Law and Order and regular Law and Order and just about nothing else.
