January 20, 2009: Inauguration Day

Wow, what a day!  I watched Inauguration Day all day and some night last Tuesday, January 20th.  Barack Obama had a very big day.  He was looking forward to with his wife, Michelle.  Do u know about Andrea Mitchell, a Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent for NBC News?  She's also the wife of an American Economist, Alan Greenspan.  Andrea was very, very busy reporting and meeting famous people at U.S. Captiol.  Poor Andrea.  She kept wandering around outside but she's bravey from the coldest weather. She stayed there all morning until got onto the flatbed truck when New U.S. President Obama and Michelle came out of the U.S. Captiol after they finished eating a special lunch with other leaders and they climbed into the newest security limo.  President Obama and Michelle walked on the street twice as their limo continued to drive down to the White House where they will be staying for next 4 yrs.  An outfit of Michelle Obama looks so stylish and beautiful.  I love it!  Her dress she wore on the morning of Inauguration Day is much better than the black and red dress she wore on an Election Day.  I don't like her black and red dress cuz it's too dark.  She should have been instead wearing a navy blue dress.  President Obama's daugthers, Malia and Sasha, were so cute in their pretty outfit.  Wow!  That evening, wow, I saw Michelle wearing so beautiful gown on TV.  She's so pretty.  I like her gown very much.  It's almost same as Nancy Reagan's gown on the night of Ronald Reagan's Inauguration Day.  Awww, both Barack and Michelle Obama were dancing and kissing together.  How sweet they are!  See what Barack and Michelle wore that Inauguration evening:

The Jane Austen Book Club (2007 Film)

Rating:★★★★★
Category:Movies
Genre: Romance
I watched this romance drama DVD movie that I rented from Blockbuster last month. I enjoyed it. This movie was made by a book. The 2004 book was written by Karen Joy Fowler. I don't remember hearing about this book when it came out at that time until tonight I surfed the Wikipedia to find about this movie. I will want to borrow this great book from a library one day in the future. Anyways, I really like Jane Austen books cuz they give an education and an info to women if those women in this 2009 don't know how to talk to men or have a trouble relationship with them. Actually, I don't have Jane Austen books at home expect a biography about her. I saw some other movies by her novels.

The director named Robin Swicord did a wonderful job to do this movie. She worked hard to make this a successful.

In this movie, there are 5 women and 1 man as members joining the book club to discuss books, "Emma", "Sense and Sensibility", "Mansfield Park", "Northanger Abbey", "Pride and Prejudice", and "Persuasion", once a month. Each of 6 members have a difficult relationship life with their spouse, or a boyfriend, or a girlfriend. This story takes a place near Sacramento, California. U will find out about each of those 6 members individually at his or her home in that movie. U will be surprised to see.

I am recommending this movie to women, and to men who don't have experiencing romance with their important ladies and don't know how. Men should read Jane Austen books, too, so they could have wonderful, successful relationship in their personal experience.

Trip to Wal-Mart. Dad's Surgery. TV News About The Crash of Airline Plane.

Yesterday morning, I talked to Mom and Joe I wanted to go to Wal-Mart.  Mom said I should have to wait until today but I must go there right away cuz I needed to buy more food there.  Both Joe and Mom gave me the green light.  I had to leave home after eating my lunch.  Joe dropped me off at Wal-Mart that early afternoon.  At Wal-Mart, I bought small storage boxes for my makeup items and other things cuz those things were so mixed up in 2 drawers in the bathroom of my big suite.  And DVD movie, "The Princess Bride" that starred in by Robin Wright and Cary Elwes.  The movie was made 20 years ago, remember that?  That's one of my favorite movies all the time cuz I love romance and adventure.  This movie is also funny.  LOL!  Otherwise, I can't find a set of 3 DVD movies, "Lord of the Rings" in the other dept.  Next time I will find it when they are an available on a display.  And then I went continuing to do shopping.  Joe picked me up when he returned after I finished shopping.

My Dad had a surgery yesterday.  He's getting better now.  The right side and under of the right ear of his head was operated successfully.  Dad is resting now but he did do errands for Mom and me this morning.

While I am doing this blog, Joe informed me that he heard an airplane crashed into the freezing water in NYC on TV news when he came into my big suite and then I immediately turned on the TV news special report to find out.  He also said the bird struck that airplane.  OMG, I can't believe what I saw on TV news.  I heard the water in Hudson River is very cold, 35 degrees.  Thank God, all of passenagers and crew are alive and safe.

January 10, 2009: Starbucks and A Library

I've decided I want to go out on that weekend.  First, I went to Starbucks for ordering Caffe Mocha with whipped cream and a glazed donut.  I relaxed and enjoyed in there.  The weather outside was nice but cool.  I wore my favorite sweater, a blue soft velvet.

And then to a library.  I borrowed 4 DVD movies, 3 books, 4 Entertainment Weekly magazines and purchased 2 books from there.  After that, I asked a librarian that I was looking for a picture of an Indian chief that my mother wanted to look at.  My mother asked me to find it for her.  The librarian did find 3 books in the children's section for me.  I stayed there for 2 hours.  4 DVD movies are Jim Henson's "The Storyteller:  Greek Myths", "Jumper", "Therese", and a documentary by National Geographic, "Is It Real?  Da Vinci's Code".  3 books are "We've always had Paris-- and Provence:  A Scrapbook of Our Life in France", "The Book of Love:  The Story of Kamasutra", and "Venice for Lovers".  And then I went outside to enjoy looking at Halifax River and the beachside when I finished searching at the library.  The weather was a windy and cool.  While I was enjoying the outside in front of the City Hall, I almost saw Dad waving at me as he was driving on the street as I was trying to read a magazine.  And then I had to leave so soon.  I had been trying to read a magazine for about 5 or 10 minutes but the wind blew my hair to cover my face.  I am not complained about the wind.  LOL!  I was pushing the wheelchair so hard as I was carrying so full of 2 bags and a purse.  The lady noticed me pushing myself and asked me if she can help me.  I replied yes.  I pointed the lady to the car but I made a mistake by picking it again cuz it almost looked alike my father's car.  LOL!  Not again!  And I saw the right one in the parking space.  I found it as Dad waving at me and showed the lady toward to it.  And I went home.

January 6, 2009: Trip to Wal-Mart

I went to Wal-Mart that Tuesday morning.  Dad dropped me off there.  I had a breakfast at McDonald's.  I ordered McGriddle sandwich and a cup of coffee.  After that, I went straight to the photo dept for ordering to print my digital photos in the computer.  I waited for my photos to develop longer but they were not showed up yet until I figured out what it is. I've been told by an employee that the print is out no more.  So, I moved over to the next computer but the guy was waiting for his pictures to be printed longer in it.  I waited patiently.  I am going to be late.  I don't want my father keep waiting.  That's why I waited for my turn to do another computer.  Finally, it's my turn to do another computer.  I printed 33 digital photos from there.  And then I was in a hurry to do shopping.  I went home late when I was done a grocery.

January 3, 2009: GDBAD

That Sat afternoon, Dad picked up my supper at KFC for ordering a box of popcorn chicken and then dropped me off at Easter Seals where I was having a deaf club meeting but about 10 minutes later, our meeting was cancelled cuz not enough members to show up.  We chatted.  2 of members left early for going out to eat.  I stayed there.  After members and guests arriving on time, we were going to play a Bingo that night.  My deaf friend, Jo, was very, very busy taking care of her mother who is in the wheelchair and has a Alzheimer's disease during the game.  Poor Jo.  I sometimes noticed Jo is very stressful and having a difficult life at home.  She's living in the house with her mother and her deaf, mental retardation brother, Bill.  I can hear Jo's mother kept coughs alot and I didn't see Jo's mother vomitting all over her pants.  Poor Mother.  So, Jo had to take her mother to the restroom but when Jo came back and informed me the restroom is mess.  She also said I should use another restroom on the other side of Easter Seals.  I understood.  Then Jo decided to take her mother home early cuz her mother isn't feeling well.  Amy and I agreed each other that Jo's mother should be putting up in the nursing home so it would give Jo a break.  I do recall hearing about the nursing home had turned down an application for Jo's mother to enter it about last year or so.  Jo complained about the nursing home.  Anyways, I didn't win but at the end of game, I won a door prize, a candlelight.  And then Dad picked me up for going home.

Kitty's Birthday Party 2009

Here are photos taken at the home of Amy and Chuck in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

January 2, 2009: Kitty's Birthday Party

The night before my birthday I got an unexpected email from my deaf friend, Amy, from the deaf club and it woke me up.  I had been asked inviting to my deaf friends' house in New Smyrna Beach, Florida for celebrating my birthday party at the last minute.  I accepted their invitation.  Later on, Amy and Nova, my hearing/interpreter friend, videophoned me and we were discussed birthday plans little bit.  Sounds like good plans.  I was excited about it.  So, the next day, I dressed up nice but a casual and looked pretty with my makeup on.  Nova picked me up that early afternoon on time.  She was waiting for me as I was making sure to everything turned off in my big suite before I left.  I was transferred from a heavy wheelchair to a light traveling wheelchair that I got for Christmas before I went out of the madsion.  A heavy wheelcair is too big to fit into the size of my friend's car so I can use a light one instead.  The light traveling wheelchair did fitting into it successfully.  And then we were gone off.  Nova and I were chatting in her car on the way to New Smyrna Beach.  When we arrived at our deaf friends' house, Chuck and Amy cooked a birthday lunch in a honor of me and then Nova went upstairs to change her clothes.  Amy hadn't buying a birthday cake yet but will later on.  She asked me what kind of cake I like very much.  Amy thinks I love chocolate very much.  Frosting or icing.  A deaf man named Robert who joined to celebrate my birthday is a closest friend of Amy.  I think she has known Robert since they went to a high school together at Florida School for the Deaf in St. Augustine.  I just found out Robert is living with Amy and Chuck at their house for awhile cuz he and his roommate were screwed up.  Anyways, it's time to eat.  My birthday lunch served a chicken, potatos, vegetables, blueberry muffins, and cransberry.  The food was so delicious!  Ohhh and ahhhh.  Wow!  Amy and Chuck made a wonderful cook!  After the lunch, I went outside the front porch of Amy and Chuck's house and sat on the swing comfortablely.  Amy left her home for going to a supermarket, Publix, to buy a cake.  As I was swinging, I enjoyed the nice weather on my birthday, partly sunny and 74 degrees.  Several minutes later, Amy returned home.  I noticed she hid the birthday cake from me.  LOL!  I already saw it when Amy got out of her car but didn't see the written words on top of cake.  Nova brought a birthday cake with candlelits on as she walked carefully several minutes later.  She and other friends sang a "Happy Birthday" song to me.  I smiled.  As Nova sat down on the chair and holded the cake with a full of her hands, I blew the candlelits after I made a wish that Amy asked me.  I read the written words on top of cake saying, "Happy Birthday, Kitty".  That's nice.  After that, I was given birthday presents from 2 friends.  What I got for my birthday is a scent candlelit and a beautiful, small and colorful shaped heart pillow that Amy made herself.  And then I got an unexpected kiss from Nova and Amy.  Ohhh, I was surprised and laughed.  Both Amy and Nova kissed sides of my cheek.  LOL!  And then I ate the cake and a delicious ice cream, Cool Mint.  When the birthday party was over, Nova took me back to my home and dropped me off there.  I had a wonderful time there.  I thanked the hosts, Amy and Nova.  I will never forget my 40th birthday.  See a Photo Album in this Multiply page, please, for looking at photos, titling and link here, "Kitty's Birthday Party 2009".
