I went to the deaf club at a different place called Elks Lodge in Daytona Beach that early evening. Elks Lodge is where many war veterans attending for their social life. Many deaf people were there. I ate a hot dog with french fries. Yummy! And then later on, we were playing a Bingo. I won #2 of 5 games. Finally, I did it! I was glad to receive some money. We had a cake that was so good on the break from playing the game.
March 7, 2009:
Bike Week was about almost over. My bus was late, I guess, due to a bad traffic jam by a full crowd of motorcycles everywhere. Finally, the bus arrived to pick me up. As the bus was on the way to the Elks Lodge where the deaf club was having a Deaf Bike Week, I could hear the roaring sound of motorcycles everywhere and noticed the traffic jam looked so full of crowd between Ridgewood Avenue and International Speedway Blvd. A motorcyclist asked the bus driver a question about something. I don't know what it is cuz I am hard of hearing. And then the bus had detouring to the other street. Next is that he had turned left to the same street where he was going to originally and the traffic was not jammed. As the bus was arrived at my destination, I noticed so several motorcycles were so full in the driveway across the street from Elks Lodge. Wow! Then the bus dropped me off at the place where the deaf club is helded. I ordered a drink of Sprite and a hot dog with cole slaws immediately after I found few deaf friends at their table. I saw so many deaf people kept coming in. Included some students from my deaf friend's ASL class. We were chatting alot. Later on, we had a huge Deaf Bike Week cake. Then we were playing few kinds of games like ruffles and door prizes. I didn't win but I am okay. I stopped by looking at a new thing that a deaf man demonatrating on the table after I picked up my foot pads that are attaching to my wheelchair. I had seen this same man before but I don't know who he is. He works for a video relay service, not Sorenson. I told him I already ordered a free different one but I am still waiting to hear from the Purple Team. I also told him if I change my mind about it in the future, I will contact him about this new thing. Several minutes later, I went home late that night. Dad picked me up. I had a good time at the deaf club.
