Ghost Whisperer Season 3

Did anyone watching "Ghost Whisperer" tonight? I did. Spooky! That show is returned for Season 3. Glad that Melinda is recovering from her out-of-body experience. After Melinda found out she might have a brother, she spoke to her mother but the mother refused to answer about her brother as Melinda was trying to get an info but Mother always kept hiding things from Melinda seriously. She should open up right away. Mother couldn't stand seeing and talking with the dead people anymore. I think she fears things. At the end of that show, Melinda won over Mother cuz she made a deceased man crossing over successfully after she talked to his daughter. I figured Mother made mistakes cuz she didn't know what to do with him in 1982 that when the man died from a gas explosion. She tried to explain what he said to his wife so hard but the wife seemed very confusing but it was too late.

New TV Series: "Dancing with the Stars" and "Bionic Woman"

From Monday to Wednesday nights, I enjoyed watching "Dancing with the Stars" on TV. That show was amazing! Thank goodness, Marie Osmond and Jane Seymour, 2 of my favorite stars, are safe. Whew! Here is a video of that show below:

I watched Bionic Woman on TV last night. Whoa! That show reminds me of an original one that Lindsay Wagner starred in. I watched those old rerun shows when I was little girl but there was no closed-captions at that time. I didn't understand actors' character names until this present time when I went to look up Wikipedia last night. Jaime, played by Lindsay, was a hero to save the government. I do remember about Oscar Goldman, played by Richard Anderson, helped Jaime Sommers to shape up. But now that last night show looks different. Jaime, played by current Michelle Ryan, ran and jump so fast! Wow! Thanks to closed-caption interpreters in that remake show. Here is a video of a remake show below:

Here is an original show, "The Bionic Woman", from 1976 to 1978:

Visited A Doctor. An Allergic Reaction To A Medication.

Last Tuesday afternoon I went to see a doctor at his office. The waiting room was crowded. About several minutes later, my name had been called and I went into an exam room. I waited until a doctor showed up. I gave him my computerized paper of of details of what happened to me in my experience but I can't tell u what those are. Then doctor gave me one prescription, a new medication. Before my doctor left an exam room, he asked me how my sleep is. My sleep is okay. And then we were done and left the doctor's office. Mom stopped by at a health food store to get something and then she dropped me off at my place. Later that late afternoon, Dad brought a papered package of medication to me from Walgreen's. I would start to use it the next day. Anyways, I've stopped taking 2 different medications anymore. I've had them for almost 2 months.
But......
The next day, Wednesday, I had an allergic reaction to a new medication right after I started taking the first pill with breakfast that morning. I've experienced little bit of dizzy and drowsy and my both legs started to feel itching so bad all afternoon. It was terrible bothered to me. It drove me crazy. The energy of my body was soooooo low! Mom found out what's going on with me in fax messages and phone calls thru a relay service. Learned my doctor is out of office today till tomorrow. I think she's still waiting to hear from his response. Me, too. I stopped taking that medication anymore. Maybe I will get a different medication again but I don't know. Wait and see what it will happen. Stay tuned.
That's why I can't do blogging yesterday.
I feel better than yesterday. Drinking coffee woke me up right away this morning. My eyes are wide. Got my energy back on track.

September 24, 2007: The Brace Shop. Library. Doc's Appt. Publix.

Hello!
I am here to do blogging this time.
Last Friday, I went to the brace shop in Daytona Beach for repairing my own brace. The reason I needed to get my brace to be repaired is that the brace is about loosing up due to my weight loss. The thigh on my right leg looks shrinking so the brace doesn't seem fixing into it anymore. And an ankle on my right foot was hurt. It was pained when I walk. About several minutes later, the brace had been repaired successfully. I went to Wal-Mart to do shopping afterwards. And then I went home.
I went to a library last Saturday. Borrowed 3 DVD movies from there. After the library, I went outside to look at the river, jet skis, and boats. The river is across the street from the building of city hall and library. I enjoyed the weather. And then I went home. The first movie, I discovered, doesn't fitting into DVD player in my TV set. I think it's a different. The 2nd movie have no caption. I didn't realize it until I put it into the DVD player immediately. I was disappointed but I am okay. 3rd movie is "Casino Royale 007". I watched that last night. Whoa! It's very good.
I had an appt with a doctor today. I went to see visiting a doctor at his office in Daytona Beach on the beachfront this early afternoon but Mom and I discovered that place looks empty and his office is closed. Then Mom called the office on her cell phone. Mom informed me they reschedule me for tomorrow afternoon. The doctor forgot me about today. I can't believe it. Mom considers I need to get another new doctor. I am trying to recover from pains in my abdomen this time. Pains were worst this month. That's why I want to talk to a doctor about my personal experience. I felt good last month. I think it's coming from my medications so a doctor could allow me to stop taking them anymore. Otherwise, Mother thinks it's coming from cheese that I ate too much. Since I bought 2 healthy TV dinners at Publix today, one of them is a vegetable and comforted me. I feel better now.
After we left the doctor's office, Mom and I went to do shopping together but I didn't buy anything expect food at Publix on the beachfront. Publix is across the road from a hotel. I felt so hungry for lunch. I ate some crackers while doing a shopping at Publix. Heee! Heee! Don't worry, I bought a package of those crackers myself. And then I went home.
That's it for now.

Spent The Rainy Day With Mom

This photo was taken on the balcony by myself.
Hello!
Yesterday was fun but was rainy all day. I went out with my Mom.
Mom invited me to a concert at the church in Port Orange for listening to a healing music by a female harpist named Melody Anglin. Personally, we hired Melody to play a harp for my wedding at another church almost 10 years ago. She was wonderful and sweet. When we got to the church, we saw my mother's friends, Ed and Joan. We waved at them. We were sitting few pews from them behind. And then we started listening to Melody's music peacefully from 12:15 pm to 12:45 pm but the headache bothered me. I talked to Melody afterwards. She looks great and different than 10 years ago. Anyways, talked to Ed little bit. Ed was also an interpreter at my wedding. He looks changing and still healthy. I really wanted to speak with Joan but she already left. Ed informed me that Joan had to do shopping. I wanted to talk to Joan seriously cuz I want to discuss about her son's art statue in the foundation outside the city hall in Ormond Beach. I am concerning about it. Her son's art statue looks like a color changing. I tried to email Joan about it but I don't have time. Anyways, the headache still bothered me. And then Mom and I left the church for going to Ed's condo for lunch in New Smyrna Beach. Still rainy. Ed's condo is a tower on the beachfront. We went up to 21st floor. Wow! Way up! But I am not afraid of height. Ed's condo looks good when we got in. Took digital photos of the weather and the beach on the balcony before lunch. See slideshow of them below. Mom, Ed, and I had a salad for our lunch. Salad was so delicious! Wow! I couldn't talk much cuz the headache kept banging on me. It's still bothered me. I can't stand it! I wasn't feeling well. Took a short nap on the couch in Ed's living room. As I was trying to nap, I had no idea that Mom and Ed were called a pharmacy to find out if I can allow to take Ibuprofen pills while I am on medications. I was supposed to ask Mother for an advice about it weeks ago before but I changed my mind. Mother gave those pills to me. I thanked Ed for pills. Mother asked me if I want to go home. I replied yes. After I left Ed's condo, the headache melted out quickly! Yay! I felt like I want to talk. LOL! Mom wanted to stop by at her friend's house on the beachfront in Ormond Beach for picking up a good book from Joan. When Mom dropped me off at my place, I figured Dad ate my ice cream. He ATE it! LOL! Dad was waiting us until Mom drove to my place. Mom didn't see a package of ice cream with cone in the trash. That package is empty. She had to leave right away. I also noticed there's a plastic bag of food and bottled water that Mom made for Dad. It's on the counter. I figured Dad didn't want to eat banana and organic cookies. I am home now. Checked emails. I had a wonderful time.

See an information about this female harpist, Melody Anglin, on my Blogroll.
That's it for now. SYL!

September 17, 2007: Trip to Wal-Mart. David. The Weather. Henry the Computer Expert.

Hello!
How was ur weekend? Mine was great. I went out all morning last Saturday. Good that I had to get out of my apt cuz staying home makes me so boring.
I went to Wal-Mart to do shopping last Saturday morning. First, I had to get another plastic storage box before putting non-food and food items in it. The reason I planned to buy another box is that I have to put so many purses, 2 freebies, etc. in it in preparing for moving out next month. I don't want to have wasting my time. After I finished doing a food shopping, I noticed there are so many shoppers were lined up at each counter. I know so many people are doing a shop on most weekends. Wow! What a crowd! Can u image that? I waited in the line up patiently. After I picked up a bottle of lemonade from a refrigerator, I sipped a bottle of lemonade while I waited in the line up. I was thirsty little bit. When I went outside after I purchased items at the counter, I noticed some boy scout boys in their uniform were standing under the tent with their chaperone or parent. They were trying to sell things that were on the display. These boy scout boys reminds me of all of my brothers. 2 of 3 brothers, Joe and Mike, were used to be a boy scout in their blue uniform with yellow and blue bandana when they were pre-teenagers. As I recalling when I was little girl, I did go to their boy scout club one night for a visit. I guess they wanted me there for a reason but I had no idea but I do remember little bit that I received a check from the club. Receiving a check was my first time in my personal experience. I didn't understand what's all about. My reaction was that I was excited and happy. In the other hand, the 3rd brother, David, used to be Junior Reserve Officers' Training Crops (ROTC) student at Mainland High School (but David left there for transferring to another school in Flagler Beach for personal reasons and he didn't graduating from Mainland) in Daytona Beach. David wore a blue uniform. He looked great in his uniform. LOL! Anyways, I talked with a lady about my brothers' boy scout past little bit before my mother brought her car to pick me up. And then I went home.
As Mom and I was about leaving Wal-Mart, I received a shocking news from her about David and Nhat. She informed me that David and Nhat are separating. I was surprised to find out. I was upset little bit. So sad! I feel sorry for David. I thought David and Nhat were great. I haven't seen them much since Christmas.
That late Saturday afternoon, I put so many purses, freebies, etc, into a new, plastic storage box. They all fitted into it successfully. That box stays in my bedroom closet.
Flashes of lightning kept bothering me while I was trying to sleep in the bedroom last night. It was middle in the night. But I don't hear thunders without a pair of hearing aids. There are 2 windows above my bed with the blind on. I can't stand lightnings! And this morning, I noticed the weather outside looks dark so I decided to keep the light on in the living room. The storm was over the beach. The rain was heavy and later stopped right before 1 pm. Now, I can see the sun is coming out through cloudy but windy.
A man named Henry came over after 12 pm today. Henry is a friend of my mother and a computer expert. He's smart and nice. Henry checked out my computer for a problem that I have encountered and fixing it successfully. I e-mailed to him about problems in my computer last night and then he did responding back to me this early morning when I opened up programs in my computer. I called him thru a relay service right away after I received it from him. I thanked Henry for fixing my computer and then he left.
That's it for now
Greetings from Florida!

DVD Movies: "Man of the Year", "Beyond the Sea", and "Dreamgirls"

I went to a library for borrowing 3 of 4 DVD movies last Saturday. The fourth one, "The Exodus Decoded", The History Channel docmentary, that James Cameron presents but it have no closed-capition. I was disappointed but I am okay. I wish someone put a caption in there. So, I stopped watching it immediately. Anyways, here is a list of DVD Movies I watched recently:
1. "Man of the Year": This movie is okay. It is a political comedy. LOL, Robin Williams is so funny and dressed up like George Washington. Here is a video below:

2. "Beyond the Sea": This is a true story of Bobby Darin, a hubby of Sandra Dee. Bobby Darin is played by Kevin Spacey. Bobby sang beautiful lyrics in his music career. I never heard of him before my time until I got older when I found out who Bobby Darin is little bit. That movie is very good. I am recommending this to u. Here is a video below:

Here is another video of Bobby Darin singing "Beyond the Sea". He's the REAL!!!

3. "Dreamgirls": This is about a story of 3 black female singers from Detroit. I like it. Did u know Jennifer Hudson who played Effie White in it landing her movie job immediately right after she was kicked out of "American Idol"? She did it because Jennifer sang beautifully. That was so fast! Jennifer won the 2007 Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Effie White. I saw that on TV when she won it last winter. Anyways, this movie is the same name of 1981 Broadway musical. I didn't know until I found out about it minutes ago when I went to Wikipedia to get an info on "Dreamgirls". Here is a video below:

That's it for now.
Have a great weekend!

September 12, 2007: Trip to Wal-Mart. A Library. Newest Ojo Phone.

See a digital photo above, that is a new Ojo Phone for deaf users.
Hello!
I am back to do blogging this time. I didn't have time for 2 nights cuz I had to finish watching DVD movie that I borrowed from a library last Sat. That DVD movie would be due yesterday. And another reason is that I felt I am not ready to do blogging. So, here I come.
I went to Wal-Mart last Friday morning. Stopped by at McDonald's for breakfast. And then ordered to make prints of my digital photos on the computer in the photo department. I went do a food shopping afterwards. Nothing happened at Wal-Mart. I had a fun. And then I went home.
Last Sat morning, I went to a library for renewing a book and borrowing 4 DVD movies. I noticed there's a cloud moving in. It was going to be looked like a gloomy. That means a rain is coming. When I was done wandering around the library inside, Dad was about entering into it as I was about leaving at the same time. I was ready to go. When I arrived back home, the rain started pouring in suddenly. Thank God, I got home on time before the rain started.
Mother came over to my place for a visit last Monday. She phoned her sisters, Betty and Teresa, at their hotel in Orlando. They were on a vacation but unfortunately, yesterday was that they flew back to home in Pennsylvania where they are living in now. Betty and Teresa had been vacationing for a week. Anyways, as Mom phoned Betty and Teresa, Mom and I sang a song, "Happy Birthday to You" to Aunt Betty together at the same time. LOL! Betty's birthday was last Monday. I hadn't a chance seeing them again. I did tell Mom I wanted to see them before. That was my planned idea. I was disappointed but I am okay. I really wanted to have a lunch with Betty and Teresa in Orlando. But in the past, I did see them when Aunts visited Daytona Beach few times.
I have news for u. Yesterday as I was chatting with one of my Yahoo 365 friends, Gerri, regarding her hubby's nephew thru IM, there was a knock at my door. I can hear it without a special flashing light that most of deaf people are using currently. Anyways, I opened the door to see a black UPS deliveryman with a medium package. I was suprised. I have absolutely no idea. No one informed me about it. I signed my real name on an electric device. The UPS man put it on the daybed but I insisted it on the floor. I thanked him and then he left for doing more deliveries to receivers. I noticed who sent to me on the label. It was from SNAP!VRS, a new Ojo phone that many deaf people are interested to order now. It's a free. After that, I went to chat with Gerri. I opened a medium package after I was done talking with Gerri. Wow, Ojo phone looks newest to me! See a digital photo above. I took it about an hour ago. Anyways, I don't want to open it up right away cuz I may be moving out of my apt next month. Don't know when but I will let u know. I will be planned going to have someone to install new Ojo phone somewhere in my new place. Stayed tuned. About newest Ojo phone, Snap!VRS is a form of telecommunication relay services regulated by the Federal Communications Commission under Title IV of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). With the Ojo video phone, qualified sign-language video interpreters communicate directly with individuals that are Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing through true-to-life audio and video transmission on Ojo, thereby enabling three way communication with standard telephone users in real-time. This Ojo phone allows us to call 911 in case of an emergency and 711 for contacting hearing relatives and friends thru a relay service with an interpreter. Sounds cool! I am so excited about it. I can't wait!
That's it for now.
See Ya!

DVD Movie: "The Painted Veil"

I watched DVD movie, "The Painted Veil" last Tuesday night. It was good. This is a remake. This original movie was in 1934 that Greta Garbo and Herbert Marshall starred in. And this movie was made by a book. It was written by W. Somerset Maugham. I never heard of this author long before my time until I found out about Maugham who wrote it when I went to the website of Wikipedia recently. It's about a couple who moved to Shanghai, China, from their home city, London. They travelled far to a very small town for helping Chinese people who were very illness due to a cholera after a husband found out about his wife's secret but I can't give u details. It will surprise u. Here is a video below:

Italian Tenor Luciano Pavarotti Dies Today

This early morning, I went to open up the Yahoo program on my computer and then the news online popped up announcing Pavarotti is dead. I can't believe it. That was about 20-30 minutes before Today News announcing his death. I used listening to his sings few times when I was a young girl. I watched his sings with subtitled English captions on TV that made me understanding before a real closed-caption was invented in America. He was so good at them. Personally, my father met him in New York City many years ago. I can't remember what year Dad met famous Pavarotti in a person but I guess I was a young girl at that time and didn't have a chance meeting him. Dad was very lucky meeting him in NYC for the first time. Dad has a professional photo of Pavarotti at home.
Italian tenor Pavarotti dies at 71

By ALESSANDRA RIZZO, Associated Press WriterThu Sep 6, 11:20 AM ET
Luciano Pavarotti, opera's biggest superstar of the late 20th century, died Thursday. He was 71. He was the son of a singing baker and became the king of the high C's.
Pavarotti, who had been diagnosed last year with pancreatic cancer and underwent treatment last month, died at his home in his native Modena at 5 a.m., his manager told The Associated Press in an e-mailed statement.
His wife, Nicoletta, four daughters and sister were among family and friends at his side, manager Terri Robson said.
"The Maestro fought a long, tough battle against the pancreatic cancer," Robson said. "In fitting with the approach that characterised his life and work, he remained positive until finally succumbing to the last stages of his illness."
Pavarotti's charismatic persona and ebullient showmanship — but most of all his creamy and powerful voice — made him the most beloved and celebrated tenor since the great Caruso and one of the few opera singers to win crossover fame as a popular superstar.
"Luciano's voice was so extraordinarily beautiful and his delivery so natural and direct that his singing spoke right to the hearts of listeners whether they knew anything about opera or not," Metropolitan Opera music director James Levine said in a statement.
Fellow singer Jose Carreras called Pavarotti "one of the greatest tenors ever, one of the most important singers in the history of opera."
For serious fans, the unforced beauty and thrilling urgency of Pavarotti's voice made him the ideal interpreter of the Italian lyric repertory, especially in the 1960s and '70s when he first achieved stardom. For millions more, his thrilling performances of standards like "Nessun Dorma" from Puccini's "Turandot" came to represent what opera is all about.
"Nessun Dorma" turned out to be Pavarotti's last aria, sung at the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Turin in February 2006. His last full-scale concert was at Taipei in December 2005, and his farewell to opera was in Puccini's "Tosca" at New York's Met in March 2004.
Instantly recognizable from his charcoal black beard and tuxedo-busting girth, Pavarotti radiated an intangible magic that helped him win hearts in a way Placido Domingo and Carreras — his partners in the "Three Tenors" concerts — never quite could.
"I always admired the God-given glory of his voice — that unmistakable special timbre from the bottom up to the very top of the tenor range," Domingo said in a statement from Los Angeles.
Pavarotti, who seemed equally at ease singing with soprano Joan Sutherland as with the Spice Girls, scoffed at accusations that he was sacrificing his art in favor of commercialism.
"The word 'commercial' is exactly what we want," he said after appearing in the "Three Tenors" concerts. "We've reached 1.5 billion people with opera. If you want to use the word 'commercial,' or something more derogatory, we don't care. Use whatever you want."
In the annals of that rare and coddled breed, the operatic tenor, it may well be said the 20th century began with Enrico Caruso and ended with Pavarotti. Other tenors — Domingo included — may have drawn more praise from critics for their artistic range and insights, but none could equal the combination of natural talent and personal charm that so endeared Pavarotti to audiences.
"Pavarotti is the biggest superstar of all," the late New York Times music critic Harold Schonberg once said. "He's correspondingly more spoiled than anybody else. They think they can get away with anything. Thanks to the glory of his voice, he probably can."
In his heyday, he was known as the "King of the High C's" for the ease with which he tossed off difficult top notes. In fact it was his ability to hit nine glorious high C's in quick succession that turned him into an international superstar singing Tonio's aria "Ah! Mes amis," in Donizetti's "La Fille du Regiment" at the Met in 1972.
From Beijing to Buenos Aires, people immediately recognized his incandescent smile and lumbering bulk, clutching a white handkerchief as he sang arias and Neapolitan folk songs, pop numbers and Christmas carols for hundreds of thousands in outdoor concerts.
His name seemed to show up as much in gossip columns as serious music reviews, particularly after he split with Adua Veroni, his wife of 35 years and mother of their three daughters, and then took up with his 26-year-old secretary in 1996.
In late 2003, he married Nicoletta Mantovani in a lavish, star-studded ceremony. Pavarotti said their daughter, Alice, nearly a year old at the time of the wedding, was the main reason they finally wed after years together.
In the latter part of his career, he came under fire for canceling performances or pandering to the lowest common denominator in his choice of programs, or for the Three Tenors tours and their millions of dollars in fees.
He was criticized for lip-synching at a concert in Modena. An artist accused him of copying her works from a how-to-draw book and selling the paintings.
The son of a baker who was an amateur singer, Pavarotti was born Oct. 12, 1935. He had a meager upbringing, though he said it was rich with happiness.
"Our family had very little, but I couldn't imagine one could have any more," Pavarotti said.
As a boy, Pavarotti showed more interest in soccer than his studies, but he also was fond of listening to his father's recordings of tenor greats like Beniamino Gigli, Tito Schipa, Jussi Bjoerling and Giuseppe Di Stefano, his favorite.
Among his close childhood friends was Mirella Freni, who would eventually become a soprano and an opera great herself. The two studied singing together and years later ended up making records and concerts together.
In his teens, Pavarotti joined his father, also a tenor, in the church choir and local opera chorus. He was influenced by the American movie actor-singer Mario Lanza.
"In my teens I used to go to Mario Lanza movies and then come home and imitate him in the mirror," Pavarotti said.
Singing was still nothing more than a passion while Pavarotti trained to become a teacher and began working in a school.
But at 20, he traveled with his chorus to an international music competition in Wales. The Modena group won first place, and Pavarotti began to dedicate himself to singing.
With the encouragement of his then-fiancee, Adua, he started lessons, selling insurance to pay for them. He studied with Arrigo Pola and later Ettore Campogalliani.
In 1961, Pavarotti won a local competition and with it a debut as Rodolfo in Puccini's "La Boheme."
He followed with a series of successes in small opera houses throughout Europe before his 1963 debut at Covent Garden in London, where he stood in for Di Stefano as Rodolfo.
Having impressed conductor Richard Bonynge, Pavarotti was given a role opposite Bonynge's wife, Sutherland, in a Miami production of "Lucia di Lammermoor." They subsequently signed him for a 14-week tour of Australia.
It was the recognition Pavarotti needed to launch his career. He also credited Sutherland with teaching him how to breathe correctly.
Pavarotti's major debuts followed — at La Scala in Milan in 1965, San Francisco in 1967 and New York's Metropolitan Opera House in 1968.
Throughout his career, Pavarotti struggled with a much-publicized weight problem. His love of food caused him to balloon to a reported 396 pounds in 1978.
"Maybe this time I'll really do it and keep it up," he said during one of his constant attempts at dieting.
Pavarotti, who had been trained as a lyric tenor, began taking on heavier dramatic roles, such as Manrico in Verdi's "Trovatore" and the title role in "Otello."
In the mid-1970s, Pavarotti became a true media star. He appeared in television commercials and began singing in hugely lucrative mega-concerts outdoors and in stadiums around the world. Soon came joint concerts with pop stars. A concert in New York's Central Park in 1993 drew 500,000 fans.
Pavarotti's recording of "Volare" went platinum in 1988.
In 1990, he appeared with Domingo and Carreras in a concert at the Baths of Caracalla in Rome for the end of soccer's World Cup. The concert was a huge success, and the record known as "The Three Tenors" was a best-seller and was nominated for two Grammy awards. The video sold over 750,000 copies.
The three-tenor extravaganza became a mini-industry and widely imitated. With a follow-up album recorded at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles in 1994, the three have outsold every other performer of classical music. A 1996 tour earned each tenor an estimated $10 million.
Pavarotti liked to mingle with pop stars in his series of charity concerts, "Pavarotti & Friends," held annually in Modena. He performed with artists as varied as Ricky Martin, James Brown and the Spice Girls.
The performances raised some eyebrows but he always shrugged off the criticism.
Some say the "word 'pop' is a derogatory word to say 'not important' — I do not accept that," Pavarotti said in a 2004 interview with the AP. "If the word 'classic' is the word to say 'boring,' I do not accept. There is good and bad music."
It was not just his annual extravaganza that saw Pavarotti involved in humanitarian work.
During the 1992-95 Bosnia war, he collected humanitarian aid along with U2 lead singer Bono, and after the war he financed and established the Pavarotti Music Center in the southern city of Mostar to offer Bosnia's artists the opportunity to develop their skills.
He performed at benefit concerts to raise money for victims of tragedies such as an earthquake in December 1988 that killed 25,000 people in northern Armenia.
Pavarotti was also dogged by accusations of tax evasion, and in 2000 he agreed to pay nearly roughly $12 million to the Italian state after he had unsuccessfully claimed that the tax haven of Monte Carlo rather than Italy was his official residence.
He had been accused in 1996 of filing false tax returns for 1989-91.
Pavarotti always denied wrongdoing, saying he paid taxes wherever he performed. But, upon agreeing to the settlement, he said: "I cannot live being thought not a good person."
Pavarotti was preparing to leave New York in July 2006 to resume a farewell tour when doctors discovered a malignant pancreatic mass. He underwent surgery in a New York hospital, and all his remaining 2006 concerts were canceled.
Pancreatic cancer is one of the most dangerous forms of the disease, though doctors said the surgery offered improved hopes for survival.
"I was a fortunate and happy man," Pavarotti told Italian daily Corriere della Sera in an interview published about a month after the surgery. "After that, this blow arrived."
"And now I am paying the penalty for this fortune and happiness," he told the newspaper.
Fans were still waiting for a public appearance a year after his surgery. In the summer, Pavarotti taught a group of selected students and worked on a recording of sacred songs, a work expected to be released in early 2008, according to his manager. He mostly divided his time between Modena and his villa in the Adriatic seaside resort of Pesaro.
Just this week, the Italian government honored him with an award for "excellence in Italian culture," and La Scala and Modena's theater announced a joint Luciano Pavarotti award.
In his final statement, Pavarotti said the awards gave him "the opportunity to continue to celebrate the magic of a life dedicated to the arts and it fills me with pride and joy to have been able to promote my magnificent country abroad."
He will be remembered in Italy as "the last great Italian voice able to move the world," said Bruno Cagli, president of the Santa Cecilia National Academy in Rome.
The funeral will be held Saturday inside Modena's cathedral, Mayor Giorgio Pighi told SkyTG24.

Farewell to Pavarotti!

God Bless him!

September 03, 2007: Trip to Wal-Mart. Deaf Club. The Beach Trip.

I went to Wal-Mart last Friday morning and had a breakfast there. I bought 2 different sizes of plastic storage box. One for the size of my high school yearbooks and another is for baby's stuff. And then I went home.
When I got home from Wal-Mart that Friday, I tried to fix the size of my high school yearbooks into a file cabinet storage box but it doesn't. Unsuccessfully. But I had another idea. I put my art stuff in it. I threw out some of art items. Some of them were very old and too dried up. I used them to make things when I was in a college. It was fun to make. Anyways, about another plastic storage box, a medium, I packed baby's stuff in it and put that box under my bed. The baby's stuff was given to me by my mother years ago. I went back to the deaf club at Easter Seals last Sat nite. It was the first time since May. I brought a paper bag of McDonald's meal and a medium drink of Spirite there. That was my supper. We had about 30 guests included me. We were playing a Bingo. Finally, I won the last game of Bingo. Yay! Yay! I got 25 dollars in cash and a set of 6 turquoise (dark) beautiful tropical plastic glasses. I needed glasses cuz I broke hard glasses few times and I don't have enough at home. I've heard the schedule of deaf club is changing for 2007-2008. The deaf club is going to have every first Saturday in each month, not twice a month anymore. I was surprised when I found out about it recently. Anyways, I had a fun that Sat night. And then I went home.
This morning, my mother picked me up for taking me to the beach park. We had to go there early before the crowd of vehicles in the parking lot. Many beachgoers would be heading there for celebrating Labor's Day. That's why. I noticed there's a part of cloudy and sometimes the sun would come out. Mom read a book herself while I read mine. We talked little bit. Then Mom decided to take a walk on the beach. She came back several minutes later. About 20 minutes later or so, we left the beach park. I had a fun.
After the beach trip, I rented a DVD movie at Blockbuster. It is called "The Painted Veil". It starred in by Naomi Watts and Edward Norton. I will tell u about it when I finished watching it. Soon. And then I went home.
